The Brevard Young Performing Artists Competition
sponsored by the Space Coast Pops Orchestra
is announcing its 16th annual event.

It is designed to recognize exceptionally talented young musicians in Brevard County up to the age of 20.
In the past 15 years, competition winners have received more than $15, 000 in cash prizes as well as the honor to be a guest soloist with the Space Coast Pops Orchestra.
In addition to a cash prize, this year's first place winner will also be invited to solo with the Space Coast Pops Orchestra during the 2012/2013 season.

This year the competition is scheduled for June 9 &10, 2012 at the Henegar Center in Melbourne. Audition DVD’s must be submitted by May 1, 2012. Those selected will perform for judges on June 09.

The six finalists will then perform in a special concert on June 10 at the Henegar Center Theater where a surprise celebrity will announce and present the winners with cash prizes and scholarships.

This will be followed by a meet and greet champagne reception for family, friends, sponsors and audience members.
